Greer bows out of playoffs at Daniel...
Greer tamed by Lions 5-0 after one of best seasons in years....

Greer was defeated by Daniel in the first round playoff game by the score of 5-0. Despite playing on a wet field and against the 3rd Ranked Lions, Greer was able to be offensive during the game. Greer held Daniel scoreless for 25 minutes before Daniel scored. Greer set a school record for wins, totalling up their season record to 11-8(5-5 in conference). Thanks for all the support!!
Also, Coach Brent Taylor announced that this season will be his last as the Greer Head Coach. Thanks to Brent for all his hard work & dedication over the years, and congratulations in going out on a winning note and making the playoffs. Also congratulations to the seniors who kept working hard and made the commitment to improve and make the Greer program competitive against the long odds of not being at a "soccer school". From where you guys were, to culminate that with a winning season and a playoff berth, well, that deserves a huge amount of admiration & appreciation. Way to go Jackets!!

SPECIAL THANKS to Greer senoir goalkeeper PAUL PUTNAM, for sending me a game score and game recap after EVERY game this year, win or lose. Thanks a lot Paul!!

Putnam commits to Gardner-Webb...

Greer senior goalkeeper Paul Putnam committed to attend Gardner-Webb next year, after recieving a visit from the Bulldogs. The coaching staff attended the Greer-Riverside match, where the Jackets played the highly ranked Warriors to a 2-1 decision. "I'm excited about going there", Putnam said. "I was pretty nervous about the Coach watching me play, but we've got some very good defensive guys back there with me, so they have made things a lot easier for me. Hopefully I can go to Gardner-Webb and do well & represent my school & town in a positive way." Congratulations!!
