The Yellow Jackets pulled off the Thursday night sweep of the Blue Ridge Tigers at Dooley Field. The C-Team got the night off to a good start with a 20-6 win over the Tigers. Trailing 6-0 at halftime, the Jackets came out and tied the game in the third quarter on a  Darius Murray 8 yard touchdown run up the middle. With 5:40 remaining in the game, Josh Rowland stepped in front of a Tiger receiver and grabbed his second interception of the game. 

The offense used the turnover to take their first lead of the game, 14-7. Running back Tykee Booker took the hand off from Reese Hannon and sprinted 46 yards for the go ahead touchdown. The 2-point conversion was successful as Murray entered the game ago and bulled his way into the end zone. The final score of the night came when running back Adam Ah Ching broke a 33 yard run down to the Tiger 22 yard line and later found pay dirt on a 12 yard run.

In the second game, the Greer junior varsity team held Blue Ridge on their first drive of the night on 4th down after a good kick return. Junior Quarterback Josh Wilson crossed the goal line on a sneak to give them a 6-0 lead. Blue Ridge would take the lead midway through the first quarter, 7-6. The only score in the second quarter came on a 13 yard touchdown run by Quadrick Mack and Wilson’s keeper for the 2-point conversion was good, 14-7.

Greer would use a touchdown run by Wilson, second of the night, in the third quarter to extend the lead  to 20-7. Mack would score his second touchdown of the night on a pass from Wilson in the final quarter to make the final score 27-14.

Both Yellow Jacket teams are now 3-1 on the season and will travel to Riverside next Thursday night. Congratulations to the players and coaches on their wins tonight!
